Welcome to IDeaS Lab




Innovation, Design Study and Sustainability Laboratory (IDeaS Lab) has pioneered research in India in the areas of design creativity, design methodology, sustainability, collaborative innovation, knowledge and life cycle management, and design research methodology, as well as training and supporting product development in practice. IDeaS Lab is within the Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. It has been founded and directed by Prof. Amaresh Chakrabarti, who has been actively involved in research, teaching and practice of product development processes and methodologies with national and international academia, industry, and peer review bodies for the past twenty five years.

The paper: Suman Devadula, B Gurumoorthy, Amaresh Chakrabarti: Design for Sustainability: Case of designing an urban household organic waste management system was selected as one of the best papers in the Indo-Dutch International Conference on Design for Sustainable Well-Being and Empowerment 2014, and has been invited for publication at Current Science Journal.
