MeDHa’16

A glimpse on the 4 day proceedings of MeDHa’16 held between 3-6 November, 2016

A BRIEF REPORT:

Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) jointly with Biomedical Engineering & Technology incubation Centre (BETiC), IIT Mumbai organized MeDHa’16 first of its kind Medical Device Hackathon at IISc, Bengaluru. Main objective of MeDHa’16 was to stimulate and cultivate systemic innovation in development of products for Elderly Care and Med-Tech (Diagnostics, Monitoring and Rehabilitation).

The event brought together Designers, Engineers, Doctors, and Business professionals under one roof to find innovative and sustainable solutions for real world problems. In a short span of 4 days (3rd to 6th Nov 2016) participants went through a short but rigorous hand-on training program covering need identification, problem definition, prototyping and development of business model for the healthcare start-up in this space.

There were some exciting solutions which were worked on at the event, and now its open for the participants to take it forward with all possible and required support through CPDM, IISc for proving the concepts and showing the solutions light of the day.

Finally, the projects were exciting and it was unanimously decided that all the participants were the winners of the event.
