AIEDAM - ZAPSupport-Developers - ZAPEncrypt

Documentation Support > Developers > ZAPEncrypt

Technically this is not a function, but I've provided some helpful information on working with ZAP's encryption system.

1) Basically, ZAP uses the salt value "zapencrypt" when testing encryption passwords for member authentication.

2) Also, encrypt is available as a ZAPphp function, so you can directly encrypt form fields using it.

3) When ZAP reads the member's password it can identify whether or not the password is encrypted, encoded, or plaintext--extract the value, and if necessary encrypt/encode the entered Password to test for a match.

4) You can create your own ZAPX functions using the Login function as a model. You might for example want to require a person to enter their existing password before being able to update it. Or reenter a password before accessing some section of your site, etc.

If this sounds like rambling, I'm just trying to think of what information you would need to develop your own encryption and authentication systems, and jot it down. If you have specific questions I've not covered above, let me know.
