AIEDAM - ZAPSupport-Mail - MailQueue
  1. >>pagegroup<<

ZAPSupport-Mail

Documentation Support > Mail > MailQueue

Format:   (:zapmail:)

Requirements to Use: ZAP | ZAP Toolbox

Explanation: When this markup is put on a page, and a request for the page is sent to PmWiki, ZAP begins checking the NewsQueue group for queued messages, and sends any batches that are ready to go. This happens automatically in the background without you having to do anything else. This markup works independently of a ZAP form.

As it may take some time to send hundreds of emails (depending on your Email Batch size), it is not normally best to put this on a trafficked webpage. Ideally, it should be put on an admin page somewhere, and CRON used to call the page every 10 minutes or so (corresponding to your Email Throttle settings). Contact your ISP for information about setting up a CRON action.

To see a working example of the MailQueue (in demo mode), explore the Newsletter snippet. Pay careful attention to how the Messages are queued, and how sent messages are logged. The NewsList snippet is an example of how to dynamically create this list of email addresses. The Logging snippet shows how to add, drop, and sort, newslists.

See Email Start for more information about ZAPmail's scheduling capabilities.
