2nd Position - METRICS HEART-MET Assistive Robot Activity Recognition Challenge 2022 held at IEEE/RSJ

Mr. Darren D'souza and Mr. Mukil Saravanan under the mentorship of Prof. Abhra Roy Chowdhuryfrom Robotics Innovations Lab (RIL), CPDM have won 2nd position in IROS - METRICS HEART-MET Assistive Robot Activity Recognition Challenge 2022 held at IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 22) in Kyoto, Japan between Oct 23 - Oct 27, 2022. Leaderboard 9th Position - BARN (Benchmark Autonomous Robot Navigation) Challenge ICRA USA 2022

Mr. Mukil Sarvanan under the mentorship of Prof. Abhra Roy Chowdhury from Robotics Innovations Lab (RIL), CPDM has participated in the flagship robotics competition ICRA - BARN (Benchmark Autonomous Robot Navigation) Challenge 2022, organized by the University of Texas, Austin, held at the IEEE International Conference of Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2022) in Philadelphia, USA between May 23-27, 2022. Video
Our team NavBot from RIL-IISc has secured 9th position in the Overall leaderboard. (see https://www.cs.utexas.edu/~xiao/BARN_Challenge/BARN_Challenge.html)
The team had worked on “Autonomous Robot Navigation in Highly Constrained Environments” for 300 different navigation environments.

3rd Position - RAMI (Robotics for Asset Maintenance and Inspection) for Aerial Robots Competition IROS Prague 2021

Team of Mr. Tharun V.P. and Mr. Suryaprakash R.J. of the Robotics Innovations Lab (RIL), CPDM under the guidance of Prof. Abhra Roy Chowdhury has participated in the IROS - RAMI (Robotics for Asset Maintenance and Inspection) for Aerial Robots Competition 2021, organized by CATEC (Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies) Seville, Spain, held at IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2021) in Prague, Czech Republic between Sep 27 - Oct 1, 2021. Team had worked on the following "Two Autonomy-Based Inspection Tasks":

FBM 1) precise autonomous navigation without Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) i.e. with poor GNSS coverage or indoors
FBM 2) automatic detection of defects using advanced AI algorithms with considerable amounts of onboard data

7th Position - Robothon Grand Challenge TU Munich 2021

Team of Mr. M J Niegil Francis and Mr. Vishnu T.P of the Robotics Innovations Lab (RIL), CPDM under the guidance of Prof. Abhra Roy Chowdhury has participated in Robothon 2021 Grand Challenge (see https://www.robothon-grand-challenge.com/home) organized by Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MSRM) Technical University of Munich (TUM), Munich, held between May 14 - June 22, 2021.
